Research expertise

Margot holds a PhD in bioscience engineering (Forest and Nature Management). She works as a researcher on the project 'HerBioGras', investigating management measures for restoring species-rich grasslands.

Before, she worked as a scientist at the Forest and Nature lab of Ghent University, studying the ecology of the alien invasive Prunus serotina in forests in Flanders and investigating drivers of tree growth in mixed forests.

Margot gained experience with science communication in two projects centred around the forest Aelmoeseneie, property of Ghent University: 'Bos onder de loep' (Focusing in the forest) and 'Pratend bos' (The talking forest).
